That's great. Nice to hear Jeff's perspective on his hiring, and how that all came about.

I was under the impression from another interview that a mutual friend of Jeff and Chester got in touch with Robert when they realized the 20,000 singer contestants were not up to snuff, and basically Jeff sort of bypassed much of the audition process everyone else went through.
In that interview Jeff makes it seem like he decided on a whim to suddenly audition in the same manner that everyone else auditioned for the band. In reality he had a much better foot in the door to get an in person audition (he was friends with Chester!), but it seems like Jeff wants to downplay his connections that gave him an extra boost.
