As for the story above. I don't even wanna read about this crap anymore. My opinion of this band, who I love so much, has been dragged through the mud so much in the last few years. It makes me sad.

It's amazing how cool these dudes all were to me years ago. I know this is just life and the way things go everywhere... either way,  My passion has been hugely affected.

...and you're right. It's the music that reels us in. It always has been. I normally can detach the music from the people creating it, in a way. It's just weird to read about this...coming from a band that used to sit in interviews and almost go out of their way to publicly display their affection for one another - at least more than the next band seemed to do.

They always seemed to have this one-for-all/all-for-one vibe that I always thought was so cool.
Not saying there isn't love there, but as mentioned above, something feels different in how I personally feel.

I know right, god forbid you make a mistake in DEAN’S BAND... The guy is a complete douche and seems like a major control freak. I’ll always love the music he made with this band but I’ve thought he comes off like a dick for years, way before this new crazy info came to light.

In the many interviews I’ve watched over the years, Dean seems like the most heartless of the group, taking personal cheap shots and being overly dismissive when something occurs with one of the members.

I guess by Dean’s logic, if he ever messes up any part of a song, Jeff should just stop singing rather than continue on as a professional.

I agree with most people here that Dean really does come off as a prick in that video as well as in a lot of interviews. However, I have spent a decent amount of time with him, and had several conversations with him at length, and in person he is a really sweet guy. At least in the interactions that I've had with him. I was shocked and blown away when I read the accusations and didn't want to initially believe them. At the same time though, I thorougly believe that everybody's voice should be heard and all accusation should be taken seriously . Some of the smearing and blaming of, and saying Jenn maybe deserved it was truly disheartening. I do want to say though, that he isn't the grumpy old curmudgeon that he does tend to come off as. At least not in all situations

Bandmates fight, brothers fight, and bandmate brothers who produce together is just a bigger multiplier.  This isn't really shocking to me.  And the fact that it seems Kretz didn't jump in to try and break it up, suggests to me that this wasn't a random instance.  Probably more of a "here they go again" kinda thing.  Who knows.  There's multiple "truths" to every persons story.  This is Dean's.


What bothers me though, is that it comes off that Dean basically transcribed the encounter with his brother as if it would need to be referenced some time down the line.  It sounds no different than how I would document if I got in an incident with a coworker and intended to file a complaint to HR.  Most definitely NOT the structure or language I would use if I were e-mailing to my wife to let her know what happened.

to echo what purple said, I've met everyone in the band several times. Robert is one of the most down to earth, cool, and unassuming rock stars that walk the earth. A class guy all the way. And Dean has always been super nice. I never got egos, rudeness or anything negative from either Deleo. So people have their shit, they have problems, and divorce is messy. I am sure they have skeletons like all of us... but going by my experiences first hand, these guys have been nothing but pro, class and likable every time I've interacted with them.

I loved meeting Robert too the couple of times I did, along with Dean and Eric. We don't really know them though, based on short positive meetings, or even based on the negative stories like this where they fought.

You really only know someone if you are in communication with or see them on a regular basis. I've probably interviewed hundreds of people (maybe 50-80 musicians among them), and the only musician I could really say I know pretty well is D'arcy Wretzky.

I don’t think these guys are “psychopaths”, they’ve just had some incredibly shitty experiences and they’re just being brought to the forefront here.


Not talking about the abuse allegations, but as far as Dean and Robert fighting: I have a brother with intense OCD, with it comes a temper. I’m sure there have been plenty of horrible fights stemming from he behavior, and it’s hard to work with or constantly be in the same space as someone who has anxiety attacks and temper flare ups over minor things that need to be cleaned. They can’t help how they act.
