God, I just wish Scott knew how the industry and the public at large really felt about him.  You weren't the punchline people treated you like, Scott, you were an artist beyond compare.

Tough to feel that way while sitting in a 6x6 cell in a parking lot, in suburban MN in early December, while killing time due to a cancelled gig that couldn't draw a few hundred people.

One thing that has struck me is how the negativity about him in comments sections has just faded away, people just seem to be really respectful and sad that he has gone. I've seen so many good things said about him.

At least on my site, there was so much contention surrounding Scott in the last couple of years in the comments section because people were so scared of him dying, and upset when stories on his downfall would come out.  Anytime people would rip him it's because they were upset and disappointed in him, and wanted to see him be at his best, happy and healthy, and were upset at him for not fighting.  This was a major sentiment among some of my commenters, who now have let go since the fight for Scott's life is unfortunately over.  I'd actually say the crowd that was the most upset at Scott over the last few years is by far the most devastated, at least among my commenters.

Truth. And it happens time and time again. You'd think we'd learn from past experiences. We have these instances of people whose glory fades away, for lack of a better expression, and we, as a people, just like to sit and watch the train-wreck. Not saying that we were going to be able to help him per se, but I'm referring to the ridicule and the jokes and the mud-slinging in the press.

I've definitely still seen negative or indifferent comments. But maybe not as much.

When STP had a cookout after filming the video for the Core single "Plush," Weiland made jerk chicken that was "spectacular," Dean raves.

Howard Stern's tribute was awesome. Really heartfelt. You can tell he was actually a fan of the boys.

I'd love to hear it, if anyone can find a rip.

I trimmed it down to the part about Scott and threw it into my Dropbox for you guys...
