On a separate topic, I know Scott showed his disdain for the whole thing, but I wonder how different it might be perceived if Scptt had endorsed the album.

Though the production isn't always to my taste and some of the songs are blah, there are some really great Scott moments. I'm not saying that because he's no longer here, but sincerely - which just goes to show that even when he "mailed it in", he was better than so many at full strength.

I've read this rumour too, not sure where it started but a lot of fans on the Facebook page are mentioning Stapp.
If that is the case it's unlikely I'll be picking up the second album! I do enjoy the first record quite a lot though.

Yes, it was on Facebook that I first heard it. Then Twitter.
I don't have any official word. That's why I was asking if anyone had heard anything legit.

What Facebook and what tweet?  Can you post a link?

Can't say i'm a Creed fan, but i'm glad for Stapp he got back on his feet after that awful breakdown.

JE-SUS we need to start differentiating better between Army of Anyone and Art of Anarchy. AoA2 can be easily interpreted as the second iteration of Army of Anyone, were there to be one. Anyway, happy to hear the DeLeos are NOT collaborating with Scott Stapp, as fun of a novelty act as Creed is. Art of Anarchy seems like a better fit for him.

AoA has meant Army of Anyone on this board for years, can we maybe call Art of Anarchy "ART" or something?

When STP had a cookout after filming the video for the Core single "Plush," Weiland made jerk chicken that was "spectacular," Dean raves.

You say Jesus. I say Jesus. Who would've thought AoA2 would get so many panties in a bunch?
Are we allowed to refer to the new incarnation of STP as STP or will there be rules for that too?

I agree, I don't get the big deal people are making out of the thread title!! It's posted in the ART OF ANARCHY sub forum too so it's pretty obvious it's not a post about Army of Anyone.

I think some of us had a minor heart attack when we logged into belowempty and saw the first thread titled "New singer for AoA2?" and clicked to see Scott's Stapp named mentioned in the first sentence. It was brief, albeit traumatic.

I had that same exact thought and misunderstanding.  But then I got over it because I'm reasonable human being.  Both bands have the same initials.. it makes sense.  If this is a controversy... then we are idiots

Hahaha! This mix up is actually quite funny, no wonder some of you guys were panicked if you thought Scott Stapp had hooked up with the Deleo's for Army of Anyone part 2... Then again they did hire Chester Bennington so technically anything is possible  ;D sorry I couldn't resist!!

I should mention I don't have incredibly strong feelings about this, I guess sarcasm sometimes gets lost through text. I still think we should drop the acronym, but I also think this is a sad state of STP affairs that we are so fervently discussing this issue. "Which failed STP offshoot should we designate which acronym!?!?"

Ain't that the truth?

It's been a rough go at it, between knowing we weren't getting a new album so soon after all (when Chester left) to the unlikely possibility of a reunion with the boys and then the Scott news. Now, this singer search.

You'd think that after a 20+ year roller-coaster with this band, we'd all be used to the ups and downs of it by now. But instead it just repeatedly brings me back to the realization that I'm still not over Scott. He's clearly not coming back and it's an awful feeling.

How about from now on we refer to Army of Anyone as AoA and refer to Art of Anarchy as little as possible.

Haha! That's funny.

Gotta say though, while it's far from amazing, in hindsight I'm glad we have it. There are some really good Scott moments.
