Just watched Civil War.
It was decent. It definitely is not "Marvel's Best Movie Yet" as some like to state with every new MCU release. It doesn't surpass Winter Soldier in narrative or pacing and suspense, Avengers, or the first Iron Man. It has some neat moments in it, and Black Panther's arc is nicely developed (and he's a badass). Spider-Man was terrific and there were some cool visuals throughout as well.
The shakey cam and missing frame rate meant to immerse you during the first 15 or 20 minutes of action is awful. The expressway chase scene, which could've been amazing, was nearly ruined by poor cinematography, missing frames intended to "speed" things up, and shakey cam. The "Civil War argument" is more balanced than it ever was in the (in hindsight) pretty awful Civil War mini-series from 10 or so years back now. Zemo, on the other hand, was handled incredibly well - he turns out to be the MCU's most effective villain yet. The scenes in the car with Mackie and Shaw were incredibly fun! The retcon involving the Winter Soldier into Iron Man's history was definitely a game-changer, but to be honest it was more of a clever and captivating retcon than any I've ever seen done onto Iron Man, although most involving the character have been awful (i.e., Kang's manipulation, adopted Tony, Tony's brother, etc).
Ultimately I'd describe Winter Soldier as a "great movie", but Civil War as "not a great movie, but a movie with some great moments in it".
