Tributes to Scott
« on: December 04, 2015, 07:22:24 PM »
Admits the sadness this day brings it nice to see how Scott was able to touch so many.  There's been so much love shown towards him and its great.  Thought I'd start a thread where we can share these tributes.  Here's a cool story Billy Corgan wrote today

Why they chose to put a photo of STP with Chester is beyond me...

Agreed. Brought a smile to my face.
Dedicated. Disgusting. Disturbing.

I'm just sittin' on this merry-go-round, and the music is too loud..

Matt Pinfield of MTV fame and true STP fan: https://twitter.com/mattpinfield/status/672660435901030400

He made a bunch of tweets about it, said he was crying and couldn't sleep last night. Neither could I!

Apparently SiriusXM channel 34 lithium had Matt Pinfield remembering the life and music of Scott Weiland at noon today, but I missed it. I would love to hear it! Don't know if they're going to be replaying it or if there will be other things of this nature.

I listened to the XM broadcast earlier, very touching, depressing. You can tell Matt is a huge fan, and he had people calling in talking about their memories and how Scott's music touched their lives....

After a few calls, they would play a couple songs, the usual Lithium music, bu always starting off with a Weiland tune. Heard some stuff Lithium doesn't normally play, Magnificent Bastards' version of Mockingbird Girl, Barbarella, White Lightning.

In the comments, Dave Kushner wife says that the last thing Scott said to her, a month ago, was "please, get VR back together"

That fucking breaks my heart! Goes to show he wasn't happy where he was.

On a different subject, I wonder if Mary will make a statement. Out of anyone, regardless of all the good and bad they went through, I think Mary lost a part of her soul yestersay. When I think of her and Scott right now, I keep thinking of them sitting in that kitchen at a house party soon after they met. I didn't like her and their codependancy, but when all is said and done, they were just 2 innocent young people back then, who fell in love with each other and the world of possibilties that was in front of them.

There's a really good piece in the Guardian: "Scott Weiland - dexterous, chameleonic and dark". Can't get it to paste on this phone but well worth a read.
