Wow, this is so cool! Great to finally hear this song as it was intended. This is just a lovely arrangement. Love the sounds of the guitars and drums, and it's great to hear Dave singing again.

Man, I listened to that Talk Show album so many times during my junior year of high school, so this is just really special to have this now.

It was really unique to hear how the song progressed from the rough track I used as a template to record to - to the finished product.

Dave And Marty worked tirelessly at getting it to where it's at.

I was always hoping for a 2nd Talk Show album, and when I discovered the live version of Saturday some years back, it almost made the longing WORSE! I can relate to how you feel for sure.

Sonically, it sounds great. Love the guitar solo too. Great Dean vibe.

I'm curious. There's a very obvious vocal similarity to Dave's attack on the verse to what ended up on Glide too. Not pinning one track vs the other, but is it possible that Scott lifted the approach from the Saturday "demo"? We know it's happened before.
Just wondering what everyone thinks and if Dave ever felt that way at all?

That verse was a Robert vocal melody for them to base their lines on.

Ah. Good to know. I've always wondered that.
Thanks for the clarification.

Cool, always enjoyed that Talk Show record, and I remember hearing the live Saturdays. Was that from the Foo Fighters tour?

Anyway, I get a slight Oasis vibe from it, which is a compliment, btw.

Awesome!

You don't happen to have any soundboard recordings of your TS Prodigy cover do you?

Not sure what tour the live track was from.  It might say in one of these threads though. I'll see if I can find it for ya.

There is definitely an Oasis vibe happening there!

I don't. That seemed like a really "out of left field" cover for them to do.

I always though "It's Late", or "Spread Your Wings" by Queen would have been kick ass covers for them to do with Dave's range.

It was out of left field for sure.

Dave is looking into doing a Spoitfy page, so we'll see.

You have great taste, two of the best songs, off their finest album.

It's Late is their very best rocker, in my opinion.

This is incredible. I've always enjoyed Dave's vocals and lyrics. The guy sounds like grunge Freddie Mercury, and his lyrics actually mean something most of the time. I'm willing to bet that if Talk Show were to get back together they would get just as much support as the current lineup of STP... if not more from loyal fans.

Missed the updated version when it was first posted - really good imho.
Without wishing to get into comparisons, wouldn't it be cool if Robert Deleo could give (or could have given) the original track with guide vocal to a bunch of singers to see what they came up with?
Anyway, I prefer the subtlety of this track in some ways to Glide which I always felt was a bit forced (SW showing off no doubt). Glide is superior in many aspects but sometimes simplicity works best.

This just made my Sunday! Listening to the live version on YouTube was always super cool but this just takes the cake! I always liked where Dave went with this tune.

It would be interesting to see the reception of a Talk Show reunion. Because Scott is gone, Dave being their first pick to work with outside of STP, and the time in history Talk Show existed - I have to imagine some people would have a more welcoming reaction.

On the new album, Jeff sort of sounds like he's drawing on both Scott and Dave. He's good. Hometown Detroit kid too.
