2016-11-19 - Private Show w/ Jeff Gutt
« on: December 23, 2017, 04:32:40 AM »
On November 19th of last year, STP played a private show for family and friends which was the true debut of Jeff Gutt on vocals. Chester, Jay Baumgardner, and other musicians/music industry folks were there. Jeff invited Chester up to sing a song with the band too.

It's weird to find this out because surely someone here had heard of it or even attended it...? Trying to track down some info on the performance.

  • Sing the song, or keep it inside.

That sounds really cool, if true. Especially if Chester got to see the upcoming incarnation of the band. Regardless of legitimacy, it sounds like one of those things that will probably never see the light of day in any way. Be it through coverage, news, pictures, videos, etc. Or, if it did happen, it might get mentioned or brought up somehow much further down the line.

Try asking Jeff on social media, he seems pretty active.

Gutt replied. He said he invited Chester to the show as a guest of his because Chester wanted to see his first performance with STP. Then he asked Chester to come up and sing Pruno. He said it was humbling.

The truth prevails.
Hr308: "Cuatro, i nearly did this because 5 g's is nothing to me."

Vaporized - "I can confirm that it's neither Gutt or Borja."

Wow! So this means STP has had their new singer chosen and have been playing together for over a year now. Would find it hard to believe they don't have something close to a full album's worth of material at this point.
When STP had a cookout after filming the video for the Core single "Plush," Weiland made jerk chicken that was "spectacular," Dean raves.
