hahaha maybe some day, you never know  ;) .... Hopefully Brett can see this and take a listen, perhaps even put it up on on Alternative Nation under their new music stuff?? I've followed that site since it was called Grunge Report and wouldn't mind a tiny shoutout ;) Thanks to anyone who has listened so far! Really appreciate it.

Hello all,

I've posted here more than a few times before, but I wanted to share my new band Dead White Day!. I sing, play guitar, and play drums (working on a live line-up), but we're recording our debut EP this month. We've just released our first single and would love any support, so check it out! Scott and STP is obviously a huge influence for me personally, and although this song is probably our most power-pop sounding thing, I think people here will dig our next single quite a bit... Anyway here is the link! - https://soundcloud.com/deadwhitedaymusic/amnesiac

And our Facebook (just launched it yesterday): https://www.facebook.com/deadwhitedayband

I'm only 19 so my voice is still coming into its own, but feel free to leave comments here, thanks!

Not necessarily a bootleg but a rare (previously unseen for me) half hour interview before the HOB LA show in 2000:

Enjoy!

Velvet Revolver / Re: GNR to honor Scott

That's fucking awesome. Been dealing with some drug issues myself but I have Scott as an inspiration (not only musically) but also to stay clean and keep focused on my own music. Love GNR too so it's nice to have a potential VR cover being prepared and a tribute to someone who I'm sure we all miss everyday through his music

How about this guy? He sounds great and his original music is good too...

And once again Tommy Black is both scummy for enabling Scott like this and taking no responsibility in his role in Scott's death, and he is a terrible addict that better get help or else I'm sure we'll be hearing that he's been found dead at some point soon...seriously - getting black out drunk right after your friend has passed? Christ...

Dark stuff...it seems like another lifetime ago Scott was happy, healthy, and on top of the world with VR and Mary/his kids in a tight family unit...

Seems to me like the paranoia/delusional thinking (remember when he thought VR was fully reuniting? or when STP fired him and he said it was to boost ticket sales?) came from his downward spiral back into various drugs and definitely from his alcohol abuse. He has dealt with bipolar for a long time before this, through his sober periods, but never did things get so bad until after Michael died. I remember reading in Mary's book (and her open letter) that once he relapsed on booze/coke in late 2007, he had very similar symptoms of paranoia..

I wonder if he had just stayed clean back then after Michael passed...everything would be so much better..

Or maybe mid-2014 is when his last period of full sobriety ended, when his shows had improved (case in point "Unglued")

Also want to share this solo song/show from November 2012. It's a month before the last real STP performance, but Scott sounds and looks great. Must have been the last true period of sobriety. Here's Barberella (rest of the show is on the same channel):

Sober Scott singing "The Man I Didn't Know" solo in 2005. Sounds brilliant. Crazy to see Doug without the huge beard! And skinnier Danny Thompson. No Tommy Black yet and he's sober here...There's parts at the end that really show how had that deep Core-era voice in him still even in 2005 :)

Enjoy:

P.S. There's lots of rare Scott/STP stuff popping up on that youtube channel

hahahah this is fucking crazy! I love it. Scott looks so goofy haha and the music almost sounds like Mr. Bungle rather than STP

:( Messages by VR takes on a super poignant meaning now, especially in light of Mary's letter:

It's been so long, nice to see youWon't be long before I come back homeWhen the plane lands will you reach meWill you call me on the telephone?
Tell my son I wish, I never yelled at him yesterday'Cause every thing's changedRadar signal seeking you but finding nothing at all, heyBut they'll hardly call the cavalryThere's something happening, hey, hey, goodbye
Goodbye mother, tell my daughter, have to leaveGet off the telephone, there's a problemSinking feeling, heroes died and plastic armor on
Tell my son I wish, I never yelled at him yesterday'Cause every thing's changedAnd you, you gave me all you hadI hope someday you will be happy without me, goodbye
Lost in a world that's quickly going badYou were there so strengthened to the groundAngels and the demons fight to save the livesWhile all the others cry
As for you, you made my life worth living, heyI pray one day you will be happy without meHey, goodbyeHey, goodbye

Scott Weiland / Re: Scott pics in 2015
« on: December 14, 2015, 04:43:01 AM »
I'm glad someone pointed this out because I've noticed this too, even going back to 2008, there are pictures of Scott when his skin doesn't look so good (eczema or rashes), I think it's due to excessive drinking, but this year with the things on his arms was alarming, it seems like there could have been a crack/coke relapse unfortunately...

Footage from early in the reunion...awesome pro-shot of "All In The Suit That You Wear" after "Down"...even though his voice wasn't quite as strong as the recording, Scott still kills it.
