Scott Weiland's musical instrument playing ability/abilities
« on: March 14, 2017, 04:15:42 AM »
I know Scott plays guitar.  How proficient is he at it?  Obviously he can write tons of stuff with his guitar playing skills.  But how large is his skillset on guitar?  Any other instruments he plays as well?

he knew chords. That's it. He was a pretty mediocre guitar player. He was better on keys/piano, but not that strong there either.

He did use to play with a synth box throughout different tours. He fiddled around with one before the beginning of some song in his show in London 2015.
Seems like you left me when you broke down

They called it the "Weilaphone" if I recall correctly.

I know :)

I, however, am not joking.   NOT a real instrument.  I hate the theremin.  haha ;)

He was good enough to play on Silvergun Superman on Purple, and also that one little acoustic song he played and sang on the Purple tour.

Apparently he played guitar himself on a lot of the 12 Bar Blues demos.  He wrote all of the music to Tumble in the Rough himself as well.

I know there's a shit load of unreleased 12 Bar Blues studio footage, someone told me about that right after Scott died.  If that ever sees the light of day maybe we'll find out.
