The song was featured on promotional copies of the album only and then the album track listing was reworked prior to release due to the song basically taking a copy written nursery song. I agree the song is really terrific. I think there were a few unreleased tracks from 12BB. Overall, this is a terribly underrated album. There’s some really terrific music there, and Scott works some great melodies into the mix. Divider has always been my favorite.
Divider was the song that got me on the first time hearing 12BB all those years ago too. The attitude and perspective he tells the story from really spoke to me and still does.
This stuff here along with any of the big blue missile stuff is just amazing to me. I wish scott could have done a lot more material similar to what we have mentioned here. Ashes to ashes is a great version he did and Scott is just so good at doing ‘Bowie’. Honestly better, but many would not like to read those words, I know Im preaching to the chrior here but my goodness this guy was great.
So do any of you think there’s much of a chance at one of those promotional copies surfacing with Lazy Divey? Has anyone here got it or stumbled upon it at some point before?
I honestly wish you the best of luck finding a copy. I'm pretty sure that sort of thing is in the hands of someone who doesn't know what they have. I used to live in LA and would end up at garage sales with authentic movie props, rare music memorabilia, and even autographed stuff going dirt cheap. I can sadly assume this sort of thing is in a box somewhere being ignored.
I typed "12 Bar Blues Promotional" into Google and some images to website came up:

As far as Divider goes, the slower STP/Weiland stuff is the reason I absolutely love the band. Songs like Son, Where's The Man?, and Divider really stood out above the rest of the album's songs. I remember playing that song over and over again. It was catchy and I felt like it was pure Scott and I love the variety of percussion instruments used as you could tell Scott was at a great creative peak.
The tricky part with attempting to find a copy with Lazy Divey is that there are "promotional copies" on eBay right now, but they do not contain the track. As I said, people are unlikely to know what they have. Therefore, I would keep checking for sure.
