Me too, I didn't entirely hate the genre, but really it was a genre of pop music rather than rock music.

I was in a band at the time, and we played Pearl Jam, STP, RHCP,  Alice in Chains etc, then suddenly over night everyone wanted to hear Oasis. Not only do I not like them very much, they are no way near as much fun to play.

Think Blur was more pop than Oasis at that time.  Why not so fun to play?

Just not, you can't rock out to Oasis like you can to PJ or STP. Noel's guitars are just boring by comparison, and Oasis are not a dynamic sounding band, generally it's just a wall of constant volume & tempo noise from the start of the song to the end. Not exciting to perform.

In my opinion of course.

Totally get, I like Noel as a song writer but his guitar playing always seemed pretty basic. Can see how it would seem stale compared to what AIC/STP come up with

I like his writing as well, although I find High Flying Birds to have a more interesting sounding than Oasis.

I can't deny Oasis have some absolutely classic sing-along tracks, but they just never really did it for me.
