The No. 4 Deluxe Remaster
« on: August 05, 2021, 08:46:03 PM »
So... is it too soon to start talking about the No. 4 remaster??

Tiny Music is incredible, and it is my favorite album.
... but I do hope they keep going with the deluxe treatments.

I am hoping they do the same treatment for No.4 and SLDD.
My biggest hope is that we eventually get a solid Blu Ray concert release with one of those 2 albums.  Alive in the Windy City doesn't count(for me).

I hope we do get one for every album.
I've enjoyed these so far. Wish there were more deep cuts/outtakes but you can only pull from what you have.
If there's one disappointing aspect is that we didn't get a DVD/video with these, but I'm just happy they are doing these. Video can always come later, hopefully.

And I have to say, I didn't expect them to follow through so I'm very grateful we got Tiny Music.
Similar to the full-album live streams, I guess I just thought it would have been Core and Purple and nothing else.

Hopefully, No. 4 and SLDD get the same treatment.

Heck, less likely, but I wonder if there is any leftover Talk Show stuff. Probably not.

I’m calling it now:

Disc 1: No. 4 remastered
Disc 2: ‘You Can’t Drive Me Away’, ‘Heed The Water Whisper’, ‘Learning To Drive’, ‘Break On Through’ and some demos.
Disc 3: Live at House of Blues 2000 (audio)
Nothing matters again, I didn\'t think we\'d last that long

That would work for me.
Those No. 4 session outtakes are some of my favorites.

I was a bit disappointed by the demos/outtakes on Tiny Music.
It was as though they didn't have a lot of vastly different versions or alternate solos.

There's also the track "The Way She Moves" that was supposedly recorded along with the already mentioned outtakes for the "Big Bang Babies" greatest hits album that they scrapped back in 99/00.   God, I feel old.

Either way, we have never heard it unless it became something else (ie "Ways She Moves" from Blaster)

I'm hoping for more, although I'm inclined to agree. But I've lived with my CD work for those for some years now - lol I'm not willing to give them up!

But on that note, anyone here that remembers my rants about this will know that I'm jazzed as hell for a No. 4 remaster. I sincerely hope they clean it up to sound as clean as Core but with more prominant bass riffs only bowing out for Dean's solos.  But either way - clean, clean, clean. Make No. 4 an honest to God glam album like it was meant to be rather than the beginnings of a garage rock album.

I'm certainly hopeful and even confident that No. 4 and even SLDD will get the remaster treatment.

Not so hopeful about S/T 2010, though I'd like that.

I also do hope some kind of video release of concerts come forward in the future.

Talk Show turned 25 earlier this month. No acknowledgement from the guys as far as I saw.

But yes, i hope No. 4 and SLDD get the same 25th anniversary treatment.
