I'm a huge NIN fan. . . The Slip is awesome! I love the song 1,000,000. . . incredible. And I hope STP starts up there own label. Or go off of Softdrive if it's still alive?

Done with Atlantic?
« Reply #36 on: May 29, 2008, 06:24:55 AM »
On Myspace's Top Artists STP is listed under "Unsigned."
I know they mentioned maybe releasing the next album on a new label (Scott's?), and this is a little more on the possibility that STP is done with Atlantic.

I thought there was a thread on this already (maybe it was another that went off topic?), but I couldn't find it. If there is, please merge.

Although Atlantic is huge, I'd be surprised if STP go back to them after the screw up that was the marketing campaign for Shangri-La as well as what I thought was the forced compilation of the Thank You disc.

CheSTP Shows: 04/23/2015
JeffTP Shows: 09/26/2019
Velvet Revolver Shows: 05/19/2004 | 11/21/2004 | 04/29/2005 | 08/13/2005 | 05/10/2007 (w. Slash signed Setlist) | 08/28/2007

Wasn't Thank You released so they could fulfill their contract with Atlantic?
Dedicated. Disgusting. Disturbing.

I'm just sittin' on this merry-go-round, and the music is too loud..

According to a recent scott statement they are trying to get out of their record contact.  I believe they owe on more record.

Judging by past happenings, I wouldnt be surprised if Atlantic lets em go.  They dont seem to want to market STP anyway.

STP should go the route of Radiohead. There's an article on CNN about the artistic freedom Radiohead now enjoys because they are not tied to a record label anymore.
