I love this song!!!

So many people hate it, but its a fun jam.  I especially love the last verse of the song when the key changes to F#.

you know, I have noticed that too.  I personally love the song.  It is one of my favorites off of No. 4.  I love Eric's funky beat on that song.

I like this song! But I guess the problem is that it's between "I got you" and "Atlanta".

Its an Unglued, crackerman type of song... a welcome break between mellow tracks. I think every album follows dat type of list, there's a break given by a rocker :) N one of my top favourite songs this one :D

One of my favourite from "No.4"

Personally, my favourite part of this underrated song is: "She don't like the way she smiles,
He don't like the way she smiles"

still can't beat down imo though

have to agree with that - "Down" can't be beaten  :D

You're right, that's how it works, but in No4 it's like is too marked. Maybe it's just my perception because I wanna reach desperately to Atlanta  :D

MC5 "was" the only STP song I have ever skipped on any of their albums. Now, with so many clunkers on the new album, I have plenty to pass by. Funny how this is the self titled album and sounds the least like STP. Skip the your, hire Brendan back to produce and have Scott actually be a part of the band and writing process. My 2 cents.

Yes, in my opinion, the album has a few bad songs as well as plenty of mediocre songs as well.  I am pretty disappointed, I should have lowered all hopes as soon as I heard Bagman and Huckleberry Crumble.  I just assumed they grow on me or those were the worst songs, or part of some magical bigger picture.  HC is a damn Aerosmith rip, written by STP (to me) and Bagman is just awful.  Dare if you Dare is so promising but the chorus is just too long and drawn out.  Take a Load Off and Between the Lines are the most STP tunes on the album, and I love Maver.  Maybe this will all grow on me, none of the other albums ever had to however.  It just feels like a "mess" when I listen.  They seem to aimlessly wander from track to track, mimicking or trying to please (?).  I don't know where they were going with this as a whole.  It sucks Scott chose not to be with the band as they wrote, and I understand Dean and Robert wanting to self-produce, but I believe someone else wouldn't have let a couple of these tracks end up on the album.  Everyone enjoy.  This is just in MY ears and mind, after about 12 listens.  I'm sure many more will follow and maybe it'll change, I can't help but feel disappointed though I am still quite happy to actually have a new album.  Just doesn't feel like STP through and through to me.

I love how "son-of-a-bitch" just rolls out in that tune.
